these are the best years
of my life. i don’t care
what anybody else says.
nobody knows but me,
anyway. i mean, think
about it. what do i need,
really, but me and mine
and you? don’t get me
wrong. every day is not
a piece of cake. but look
at all of these silly folks
reminiscing on their youth
who’ve no clue how to soak
in the blessings of the present.
