The Daily Humdrum

By now, you must think me terribly
boring.  If you now me or have ever
hopped onto this distorted narrative,
been the least bit intrigued, or were
simply patient, thinking that anyone
who’d whiled away so much of their
precious time concocting page after
page of such circuitous suspense
(am I giving myself too much credit
even there, I wonder) would surely,
in the end, have swollen into a semi-
satisfying period of recompense, for
both the narrator and, most especially,
for our dear reader (who is the real
hero of this all-too-interminable story,
in the end; which I relay with the most
sincere apologies, since this will must
be very much to your chagrin). But that
is most assuredly not the case, or has
yet to be, and shall, by all logical
calculations and sensible
prognostications, never be.
